About Me
If you should find yourself exploring my website, welcome. My name is Alanah Morin (She/Her). I am a certifying birth and postpartum doula.

I have always loved being in service. Caring for others, especially in their time of need, has felt somewhat hardwired into my head, heart, and DNA. It's this calling that's driven me to want to really know and understand humanity. In 2013 I graduated from the University of Waterloo with a Bachelor's Degree in History and Minor in Sexuality, Marriage and Family Studies. And in 2018, I graduated from BCIT with my Non-Profit Management Associate Certificate.

The jump from my degrees into birth work feels like a natural progression, but in reality it was perhaps a bit backwards. In fact, following the time spent with my Grandad at his end of life, my sister said to me, “Hey, have you ever considered being a doula?"
And just like that, out of death, birthed my doula journey.

In 2019 I completed my first Birth Doula training with Stefanie Antunes and it launched a life-long fascination with all things pregnancy and birth. But just as I was beginning to cultivate some momentum, the world shut down. So I took the time as a gift, committed to learning, and started my very own family. During the birth of my first child, I was joined by my partner, mom, midwives, and my doula, Christine. Christine's presence was a blessing. And not just for me, but also for my family. The role my doula played in supporting all of us during my birth, put simply, was extraordinary. And it made the difference.
Fast forward to today, I am the mama to three incredible tiny humans who bring all of the love, laughter, and unapologetic chaos. When I am not chauffeuring my kiddos to drop-off or pick up, doing endless laundry, or running errands, I am watching a good series, making travel itineraries I’ll most likely only dream about, baking, and doing anything arts and crafts. I love to dance; movement and music is my soul food especially when it's accompanied by the African drums. And then of course, there’s nothing quite like a good cup of tea.
Should our paths cross and this partnership be a good fit, I look forward to supporting you and your family through the wonders of your birth and postpartum journey.
